I belong to these mountains.
The Dolomites taught me to read light before it arrives
Thirty years of relationship — not visits
Long before mountain biking existed here as a concept, I was riding through the high meadows of Val Badia. No marked trails. No other cyclists. Just the Dolomites, the silence, and the slow learning of how this landscape works — where the light disappears before noon, where the wind comes from, which passes close before the afternoon.
Thirty years later, I still come back. Not to photograph. To be here.
What I know about the Dolomites is not what you find in travel guides or location lists. I know which valleys fall into shadow at two in the afternoon and which plateaus hold golden light until eight. I know which mountain roads require special permits that are not granted to strangers. I know which alpine huts close their meadows before hay season — and that the right person asking in the right language changes everything.
I know the Ladin culture: its reserve, its pride, its deep attachment to a land shaped by the same families for generations. These are not background details. They are the grammar of this landscape.
The Dolomites are not a backdrop. They are a living system with their own rules. And a wedding here becomes something truly extraordinary only when you stop trying to impose your plan on them — and start listening to what they actually offer.
This is what draws me to every story here: not the peaks, not the panoramas. The moment when a couple stops performing and starts experiencing. That is when the Dolomites reveal themselves. And that is when the photographs become something else entirely.

your cinematic love story in Dolomites
THE MEMORYMAKER METHOD
Not posing
Not reportage
This is story
Traditional photography focuses on how things look.
Reportage focuses on what happens.
I build a narrative around what it means.
That difference is what you’ll feel in every frame.
PHOTOGRAPHY + STORYTELLING
Cinematic storytelling techniques — framing, light, timing, sequence — applied to real, unscripted moments.
Every choice has a narrative purpose, the way it does in a film.
Your story is studied before the scene begins. Who you are, how you move, what you carry inside. Characters are learned before the first frame is made.
Every moment is read in real time — the angle that makes you feel powerful, the light that reveals what words cannot say, the detail that will matter in twenty years.
The edit is not a selection of beautiful images. It is a sequence — built with the same narrative logic as the day itself. So that every time you watch it, you feel it again.
You are the protagonists. The mountain is the stage.
This is not only photography. This is your life, told like a film.
And it will never look like anyone else’s.

Your Dolomites Wedding Photographer
I grew up inside these mountains. Not as a tourist. Not as a skier. As someone who walked them for hours to reach places that today you can reach in ten minutes by cable car. That difference is not nostalgia — it is a completely different relationship with the landscape.
When you cover kilometres on foot with a full pack, when you learn your limits on a steep descent, when you find yourself facing a storm on a high pass with nowhere to go — the mountain stops being scenery. It becomes something you have to read, respect, and listen to. Because it does not make exceptions for anyone who loves it.
I know what it means to climb to the Forcella del Putia with a heavy pack, to descend from the Lagazuoi roped to your dog, to wait out rain and cold crouched under a rock. I know the warmth of a smile at the top and the deep look of someone who made it.
Today everything is faster and easier. That is not wrong — but it changes what you know. The people who traced those trails before us went up for joy, for grief, for survival. Walking in their steps, slowly, gives you something that is hard to explain. A spark of eternity, maybe. Something intimate and ancient at the same time.
That is the relationship I bring to every Dolomites wedding. I work with a limited number of couples each year. Not as a strategy. Because knowing your story before your day is the only way I know how to work.
What I’m building for you is not a gallery. It’s the deepest legacy you will ever create: the story of how your family began. For the children who weren’t there yet. For the people who will come after.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
A Dolomites wedding is not like a wedding anywhere else
The mountains set the rules. Knowing them changes everything.
Most couples arrive with a beautiful idea: a church surrounded by peaks, a dinner at a mountain refuge, golden hour portraits on an open plateau. That idea is not wrong — it is exactly what a Dolomites wedding can offer.

But the Dolomites operate on their own terms.
Light at three in the afternoon in a north-facing valley is flat and cold. That same valley at seven in the evening glows. A road that looks short on a map may require a permit that is not granted to strangers. Alpine huts in protected areas have access windows — miss them and the day breaks. Certain churches require documentation that foreign couples often cannot provide. Open fires are prohibited across the plateau. And the weather, even in June, moves faster than any fixed timeline.
These are not complications to manage around. They are the grammar of this landscape. Every couple that has had an extraordinary Dolomites wedding or elopement understood this — before arriving.
I know which places work at which hours. I know which malgari will open a gate if asked in the right language. I know how to read the forecast for a specific pass at a specific altitude. I know when to stay and when to move.
This knowledge does not come from a guide or a directory. It comes from thirty years of being here — not as a Dolomites wedding photographer passing through, but as someone who loved these mountains long before they became part of his portfolio.
Couples who choose to move with the mountains — rather than around them — are the ones whose stories I tell best.

If you are looking for someone who will adapt the mountains to your schedule, I am probably not the right person.
If you are looking for someone who will help you read the mountains before your Dolomites wedding begins — we should talk.

Where your story will unfold
The Dolomites’ most cinematic locations for weddings and elopements
Every area holds something different. These are the ones that keep drawing me back. I’ve worked in all of them — each one has its own light, its own rhythm, its own demands.
The small church beneath the Odle peaks. One of the most recognizable Dolomites wedding locations — and one of the most demanding to use well. The evening light here is something else entirely.
Hidden above the valley, surrounded by Sella and Sassongher. Where the most intimate Dolomites wedding storieshappen far from the tourist routes.
The largest alpine plateau in Europe. Perfect for an intimate wedding in the Dolomites — but a protected area with strict access rules. Timing is everything.
The dramatic ridge of Seceda above Val Gardena with views that feel like the edge of the world. One of the most spectacular spots for Dolomites elopement photography.
The symbol of the Dolomites. Raw, iconic, powerful. The most sought-after location for a Dolomites elopement. Best at sunrise, before the trails fill.
